What is Homeopathy?

“The highest ideal of cure is rapid, gentle, and permanent restoration of health, or removal and annihilation of the disease in its whole extent, in the shortest, most reliable, and most harmless way, on easily comprehensible principles.”

~Samuel Hahnemann

Homeopathy was developed by a German physician, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843). It is a medical science based on the principle that  “like cures like.” This means that any substance which can produce symptoms in a healthy person, can cure similar symptoms in a person who is sick. This idea is referred to as the “Law of Similars,“and was understood by Aristotle and Hippocrates and mentioned in ancient Hindu manuscripts. It was Hahnemann, however, who turned it into a science of healing recognizing the natural law of cure.  He used the word homeopathy to describe it, “homeo” means similar and “pathos” means suffering.

Homeopathic treatment, offers deep healing of mental, emotional and physical complaints. The general vitality of the organism is increased, and the health of the person is improved. This is in contrast to conventional medicines, which only manage or suppress symptoms.
